Is NextStep free to use?
Yes! Creating an account, taking assessments, and browsing all directories is completely free. We believe every Kenyan learner deserves access to quality career guidance regardless of their background.
How does the RIASEC assessment work?
The RIASEC assessment is a globally validated psychometric tool adapted for Kenya's CBC framework. You answer a series of questions about your interests, strengths, and preferences, and receive a detailed career pathway report as a PDF.
Can schools and institutions partner with NextStep?
Absolutely. We work with schools, counties, and education organisations to provide group assessments, career counselling resources, and platform integrations. Reach out via the contact form and select "Schools & Institutions".
Which counties does NextStep cover?
All 47 counties. Our senior schools directory, university listings, and career information are compiled from institutions and opportunities across Kenya — from Nairobi and Mombasa to Turkana and Mandera.
How long does it take to get a response?

Is the platform aligned to the CBC curriculum?
Yes. NextStep is built specifically for CBC learners in Kenya. All assessments, career pathways, school directories, and subject guidance are structured around CBC pathways for Junior and Senior School, and KUCCPS processes for university entry.
